چکیده
Background: Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is the most common hereditary auto-inflammatory disease, which more in groups basin, characterized by recurrent attacks of febrile peritonitis, pleuritis and arthritis. Objectives: The aim this study to investigate gender differences clinical demographic features patients with familial (FMF). Methods: Patients FMF diagnosed according Tel-Hashomer criteria were included multi-center study. Data about age, sex, disease duration, symptom age at diagnosis, comorbid diseases medications noted. All screen Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS), Health Assessment Questionnaires (HAQ), Short Form 36 (SF-36). severity was assessed PRASS scoring system. Results: Of 286 patients, 199 (69,6%) female mean 36,2(SD:12.32) years 87 (30,4%) male 32,9(SD:12,6) (p=0,017). Age diagnosis lower than females (p=0,008). genetic mutation both genders M694V gene mutation. Homozygous positivity higher males (31,79% vs 17,4%). More 90% receiving colchicine,10 (3,5%) anakinra 5(1,75%) canakinumab. Among regularly taking colchicine, 86.2% 86% (p=0,981). There no between terms findings, frequency duration attacks, presence colchicine resistance, amyloidosis (p>0.05). ESR detected group (p=0,011). Headache (p=0,001), migraine (p=0,031), concomitant (p=0,017) also males. depression scores (p<0,05). activity similar (p>0,05). parameters SF-36 while HAQ score Conclusion: Although treatment compliance are genders, earlier females, but findings such as anxiety, depression, migraine, headache patients. Background: Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder characterized by recurrent episodes of self-limited fever and serosal tissues inflammation. Methods: To evaluate clinical symptoms and common genetic mutations in southwestern Iranian patients with FMF, 20 unrelated patients were enrolled in this study based on clinical criteria. A panel of 12 common ME...

Background: Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) has episodic or subclinical inflammation that may lead to a decrease in bone mineral density (BMD). The objective of this study was to assess BMD in Egyptian children with FMF on genetic basis. Methods: A cross sectional study included 45 FMF patients and 25 control children of both sexes in the age range between 3-16 years old. The patients were re...

INTRODUCTION Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is a hereditary autoinflammatory disease characterized by recurrent self-limiting fever and serositis that mainly affects Mediterranean populations. Many patients with FMF have been reported in Japan due to increasing recognition of this condition and the availability of genetic analysis for the gene responsible, MEFV. The present study was perfor...
